“Billionaire Ronald Clement is looking at thirty years of prison time for a long list of crimes related to his business transactions over the last decade. More information will be forthcoming, but authorities have arrested more than a dozen involved individuals in the last few weeks as they clean house. Three members of the board of his multi-million-dollar company are among those arrested, and others are currently under investigation. His most recent merger was dissolved under allegations of blackmail and extortion on behalf of the previous owners—”
Peter clicked off the remote and tossed
it onto the couch next to him. “Que feo.”
Celina looked up from her place in the
kitchen. “I’m just glad you’re okay.”
“Me too.” He pushed up from his place and
moved behind her, one hand on her petite hips. “I still feel like I’ve lost too
much time with you.”
The side of her mouth pulled up in a
grin. “I’m making dinner.”
“Let me help.”
“Peter doesn’t know how to cook.”
“Oh yes he does, you just do it much better,
so he lets you have your way. Plus, you whacked my hand when I tried to help
right after we married.”
“I did not.” She stared back at him.
Peter encircled her with his arms,
breathing deep. “You did too. You flicked that towel of yours right at my
fingers. They stung all the way through dinner. But then I tasted your food and
all thoughts of revenge or anger left and never returned.”
She blushed again. “Mentiroso.”
“Oooh, I love it when you speak Spanish
to me.” He kissed her cheek, then let her chase him away with a flap of her
arms. “Mind if I go to the gym this evening?”
“Of course not.” She rolled her eyes.
“Maybe we’ll come with you. You said they have a swimming pool, no?”
