A little about your host:
I am an auditor - the good kind. Like Glenda witch vs the wicked witch of the east/west.
I began writing in middle school. I still remember turning in my 12 page, a double-spaced story on old green-bar paper for an assignment. My classmates laughed in shock, unfolding the connected sheets and stretching them across the desks mocking how long it was. (the requirement was 1.5 pages).I didn't care - much - I loved to tell the tale.
In high school I would scribble as fast as I could, passing back each page of my story to the next seat on the bus as they read the words faster than I could write them.

Then suddenly it stopped. I don't remember why, but for many years I didn't write a single thing. What started me up again was stress. College mid-terms, if I remember correctly, and a new baby. I wrote for an entire weekend cranking out most of a rough draft on a sci-fi novel. I wrote the sequel and most of a third book later that same year. And that became my thing. When I was studying for my CPA exam I swear I must have written an entire anthology.
My genre is always sci-fi or fantasy with a dash of romance. I have found that my sub-plot themes evolved with my life. When I miscarried, my MC found herself pregnant and in danger of losing her own child. When I became a mother, my characters suddenly developed much fuller lives - several dealing with the struggle of marriage and family. They say to write what you know, and that's certainly the case with me.
Eventually I'd like to get published, but that needs to wait until a few other goals are met, so for now, you get at least a chapter for free!
